Type your brand name into Google. If the first thing that shows up isn't your site, your Google listing and your content, you have a simple problem to name: you don't own your own SERP.
The branded SERP is the results page when someone searches explicitly for your name. These people already know you. They're ready to buy. It's the hottest, most qualified and cheapest traffic you'll ever get. Leaving it to a reseller is paying to bring a customer in and dropping them on a competitor's doorstep.
I'm Francis. Eleven years in SEO. In AfriRank diagnostics, the branded SERP is almost always the first territory I look at — because that's where it bleeds fastest, and where it seals up fastest too.
When someone types your name, they've already decided who they're looking for. They're not comparing. The branded SERP answers an implicit question: "where is this brand, and what's being said about it?" Three things play out on that page:
When your SERP is hijacked, you pay twice: once to build the awareness that drives the search, a second time in margin given up to whoever catches the click.
The demand is already there. People are already typing your name: it's just about recovering the click. Competition is low on your own name — a reseller ranks by default, not by effort. Google wants to get it right: when the entity is clear, it has every reason to show the official brand first. It's often the most accessible revenue to recover in the short term — and the same problem plays out again against marketplaces and in AI answers.
What the Diagnostic shows is the what and the how much. The how — the page-by-page, listing-by-listing reclaim — is done in the engagement.
Type your name into Google in a private window. Note what shows up in the first five positions, the panel on the right and the related suggestions. If a reseller, a marketplace or a third-party site holds spots you should hold, you don't fully own it.
Because Google rewards the page best optimised for the query, not the product's owner. A reseller with an older domain and structured product pages can get ahead. It's a technical gap, so it's closeable.
You don't request it, you earn it. It appears when Google clearly understands your brand as an entity: a consistent name everywhere, structured data, presence on recognised sources, assets linked together.
On branded queries it's generally faster than on category queries, because competition is low and the demand is already there. A diagnostic prioritises the quickest wins first.
The Diagnostic shows who holds your branded SERP position by position, the territories given away, and the potential quantified. €290 (~$310), credited toward your first month if you continue.
